I came across this book in 2018. YK, I’m an avid book reader. It was a tough time for me and I was going through a rough phase in my life. While scrolling through Youtube, a random youtube channel recommended this book 4 years back. The plotting of this book and all characters attracted me. This book changed my perspective on life. We all know that everything is temporary. Although, CHANGE is the only thing that is permanent. We all fear Change because it violates our beliefs and makes us uncomfortable.
Change is not always easy, but it is an inevitable part of life. We all face changes, whether big or small, that challenge us to adapt and grow. However, for a long time, I found myself struggling to embrace change. I was clueless. I was afraid of the unknown, and the thought of stepping out of my comfort zone filled me with anxiety. That was until I read ‘Who Moved My Cheese?’ by Spencer Johnson.
After reading this book, I’m sure, you will take CHANGE as a Blessing in your life.

Who Moved My Cheese by Johoson Spancer Jonson.
The book is a parable that revolves around two mice and two little people, who are all trying to find their way through a maze to get to their cheese. As we all strive to achieve something in life. Your cheese is that thing you want to achieve. The story is simple and straightforward, but it delivers a powerful message about change and how we should react to it.
The book begins with the introduction of the four characters: Sniff and Scurry, two mice, and Hem and Haw, two little people. All of them live in a maze and have found a place where they get their cheese. They enjoy their cheese. Time passes. Hem and Haw get comfortable and lazy with time. They get so confident that now their cheese is permanent. No one can snatch it from them.
One day, they find that their cheese has moved to a different location. The mice, Sniff and Scurry, quickly adapt to the change and set out to find new cheese. However, Hem and Haw, the little people, are resistant to change and refuse to leave their old spot in search of new cheese.
After reading this book, I realized that I had been acting like Hem and Haw in many areas of my life. I was resistant to change and unwilling to step out of my comfort zone. However, the book inspired me to take action and start embracing change.
The parable is a metaphor for how we deal with change in our lives, and the book goes on to illustrate how we should react to it. The author emphasizes that change is inevitable and that we should not resist it. Instead, we should anticipate it, adapt to it, and embrace it as an opportunity for growth. One of the most powerful messages of the book is that we should not let fear hold us back from pursuing change. The fear of the unknown and the fear of failure often prevent us from taking risks and making the most of the opportunities that come our way. The book urges us to confront our fears, step out of our comfort zones and take a chance at something new.
Do you resist Change?
I don’t know about you. But I used to be afraid of uncertainty. I was clueless and had no idea what I want to pursue in my life. My learning mindset helped me to navigate the change. Thank God, I read this book. It helped me to have a positive attitude and a flexible mindset. These two things are prominent lessons from this book. The characters who embrace change with a positive attitude and are willing to learn and adapt are the ones who ultimately succeed in finding new cheese. On the other hand, those who resist change and cling to the past are left behind.
One of the key messages of the book is the importance of letting go of fear and embracing uncertainty. Hem and Haw represent those who are paralyzed by fear and unable to move forward when faced with change. They are trapped by their own beliefs and expectations and refuse to consider new possibilities. Sniff and Scurry, on the other hand, represent those who are able to embrace uncertainty and take risks in order to achieve their goals. They accept that change is inevitable, and are willing to adapt and try new things.
No doubt, The book inspired me to let go of my fear and resistance to change and to start taking action toward my goals. By embracing change, I was able to find new opportunities and experiences that I never would have discovered if I had stayed in my comfort zone. If you’re feeling stuck or afraid of change, I highly recommend reading ‘Who Moved My Cheese?’ and taking inspiration from its powerful message.
